This interview is so inspiring that I listen to it over and over again and it helps me every time. There are so many golden nuggets in this one. I definitely recommend downloading it and keeping it handy. Peg Baim MS., NP, talks about the revolutionary field of mind-body medicine, the relaxation response, meditation and how it affects our bodies and minds. Peg talks about how her own social anxiety led her to practice and learn the science of shifting our perspectives, positive psychology, and at the root of retraining our brains, meditation and how it leads us to our physiologic state of the relaxation response, the opposite of the stress response.
Peg is a very special person to me and to all the countless other people she's taught and to those countless others affected by those she has taught! Incredibly humble and always ready with words of wisdom, Peg is the Clinical Director of the Center for Training at the Benson-Henry Institute where she has earned international recognition as a leading educator and lecturer in the field of mind-body medicine. She is the Director of the Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) Program, an Adjunct Professor at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions, a Harvard Medical School affiliate. Peg is a researcher and clinician who created innovative programs for patients and health care providers. So without further ado, my interview with one of my favorite people in the world.
